Wes and Amy consulted regularly as colleagues in a shared profession, and referred clients to each other often if they felt the other was a more proper fit, or if they were unable to accept new clients at any given time. They could refer to each other with confidence, knowing they were sending clients to someone they could trust. With the pressing need to find reliable and available practitioners for those they did not have the bandwidth to serve, they went through a process of finding trusted colleagues to refer to.
Over the years, many of their colleagues’ practices have become filled to capacity, with the pandemic exacerbating the situation. Unwilling to make blind referrals, Wes and Amy decided to bring their intentions to fruition in 2021, joining together to form Counseling Associates of Delaware so they could help serve more people, and a broader range of ages, from as young as 2 years old, to seasoned citizens. The process is for any prospective client or family seeking mental health counseling to talk with Wes or Amy, then be matched with a therapist providing counseling services at Counseling Associates of Delaware.
Counseling Associates of Delaware is slowly growing, as their hiring process is very deliberate and specific to the values and morals extolled by the founders, Wes Jones, and Amy Carello.
